Spanish coach Oscar Bruzon penned an extension on his contract with ISL side East Bengal FC on Thursday, linking him to the fabled Kolkata club until the end of the 2025-26 season.
Bruzon, who took the helm of EBFC midway through the season, went on to accumulate 28 points towards the final phase of the bygone season and reached the quarterfinals of the AFC Challenger League.

“I am thrilled to extend my journey with East Bengal FC for the upcoming season,” Bruzon said after signing the dotted line.
“While the previous season presented challenges, particularly after a slow start, we have collectively learned from those experiences and are now fully focused on reigniting the winning mentality that defines this great club,” the 48-year-old added
“Our loyal supporters deserve nothing less than a team that reflects their passion, resilience and unwavering belief in East Bengal’s legacy,” the Spaniard continued.

Bruzon led Bashundhara Kings to an incredible 94 victories in 114 matches between 2018 and 2024, ahead of his switch to EBFC.
Under the watchful eyes of Bruzon, the Kings won five Bangladesh Premier League titles on the bounce, and three Independence Cup, and Federation Cup each. The Kings played an attacking brand of football under the Spanish tactician, netting 277 goals.
