American tennis star Coco Gauff moved into the quarterfinals of the French Open 2025 with a win over Ekaterina Alexandrova on Monday. The 21-year-old Gauff posted a 6-0, 7-5 victory over Alexandrova to reach the last eight at Roland Garros.
“It was tough. The whole match I think I played well to be honest,” said Gauff following her triumph.

Mirra Andreeva also moved into the last eight of the clay court major with her win over Daria Kasatkina as the 18-year-old Russian, registered a 6-3, 7-5 win in a fixture that lasted just over an hour and a half.
“It was a hell of a match,” said Andreeva, who is in line to take on the winner of the match between Jessica Pegula and Lois Boisson in the quarterfinals.
Andreeva, the Russian teenager, revealed her delight and relief with her victory over the Russian-born Australian Kasatkina.
“Honestly I’m so so happy I won, I hate playing against her, we practise a lot and even practice is a torture for me,” the 18-year-old added.

Frenchwoman Lois Boisson, ranked No. 361 in the world, caused a major upset as he showed Jessica Pegula the exit door to make it to the last-eight at Roland Garros.
The 22-year-old Boisson rallied from a set down against the American to clinch an astounding 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 triumph to extend her dream run on her Grand Slam debut on home soil.
“I really don’t know what to say,” said Boisson.
“To play on this court with such an atmosphere was incredible. I was confident before the match and knew I could do it even if she was really strong. I gave everything I had and it worked, it’s incredible,” the home-favourite added.
