Japan’s All Nippon Airways (ANA) is marking six decades of the Yokohama–Mumbai sister city affiliation with a series of commemorative initiatives in June 2025. The sister city relationship, officially formalised on 26 June 1965, continues to stand as a significant symbol of friendship and cooperation between India and Japan.
To celebrate this milestone, ANA has introduced themed in-flight and airport activities across its Mumbai–Narita services, NH829 and NH830. Throughout June, passengers will receive commemorative stickers featuring the 60th anniversary logo onboard. In parallel, Mumbai International Airport will host giveaways and lucky draws aimed at enhancing passenger engagement and honouring the legacy of the city partnership.
Passengers travelling through Mumbai’s ANA check-in counters will see the 60th-anniversary branding prominently displayed during the entire month. A leaflet with information about the anniversary and a QR code will be distributed at arrivals and departures. Travellers can enter a digital lucky draw through the ANA QR code, with prizes including hotel stays in Yokohama, admission tickets to local attractions, and ANA-themed merchandise.
On 27 June, the day the sister city agreement was signed 60 years ago, ANA will make a special in-flight announcement on both NH829 and NH830 to mark the occasion.
These initiatives not only commemorate a long-standing relationship but also reinforce ANA’s role in connecting cultural and economic ties between the two nations. As India–Japan relations continue to deepen in the diplomatic, tourism, and commercial spheres, this celebration reflects the enduring relevance of people-to-people connections forged through civil aviation and sister city diplomacy.
