Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak details

Uses 17-inch wheels at both ends and features a single-sided swingarm

The Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak is powered by the same 1,158cc V4 Granturismo engine as the rest of the Multistrada lineup, producing 170hp at 10,750rpm and 123.8Nm of torque at 9,000rpm. The engine also features the advanced cylinder deactivation system that deactivates the rear bank at slow speeds, introduced alongside the updated standard Multistrada V4. Additionally, the Pikes Peak gets a Race mode that maximises throttle response and minimises intervention from rider aids like traction control and wheelie control systems. A titanium Akrapovic exhaust comes as standard.

The key differentiator for the Pikes Peak is its higher-spec hardware. It features Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 electronic suspension, also seen on the Panigale V4 S and Streetfighter V4 S, that automatically adjusts based on the rider’s riding style and offers different damping settings for each suspension mode.

Unlike the standard Multistrada V4 which runs a 19-inch front wheel, the Pikes Peak gets a 17-inch front which should translate to sharper handling. The bike uses lightweight forged wheels running Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres sized 120/70-ZR17 front and 190/55-ZR17 rear. More notably, the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak adopts a single-sided swingarm unlike the V4 and V4 S, giving it a sportier, distinctive appearance.

Braking hardware includes 330mm front discs with Brembo Stylema calipers and a 280mm rear disc.

Ducati has also made notable changes to the chassis geometry to enable sportier riding. The steering head angle is 25.75 degrees instead of 24.5 degrees on the standard V4, and the riding position has been made more aggressive with footpegs positioned higher and further back, while the handlebar is narrower and lower.

The comprehensive electronics suite from the Multistrada V4 S has been carried over, including the Ducati Vehicle Observer (DVO) system that simulates input from 70 sensors to improve ABS, wheelie control, and traction control precision. It also gets the radar system with Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and Blind Spot Detection (BSD) features.
