Category-Wise Expected Cut-Off For JEE Mains 2026: To estimate this year’s expected cut-off marks, candidates can refer to the category-wise cut-off marks of 2025 and 2024.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Paper 1 (BE/BTech) results soon. As per the official website, the results will be announced by April 20. Candidates who appeared in the exam can check their scores by visiting the official website at jeemain.nta.nic.in.
Along with the Session 2 results, NTA will also declare the final JEE Main results combining the Session 1 and Session 2 scores, as well as the toppers’ list and the cut-off marks required to appear in JEE Advanced. To estimate this year’s expected cut-off marks, candidates can refer to the category-wise cut-off marks of 2025 and 2024.

NTA released the answer key, question paper, and recorded responses for the JEE Main 2026 April session on April 11. Soon after, several questions sparked controversy, causing concern among many students. On analysing the paper, students and experts identified four questions that have drawn serious objections.
First, the answer to a ‘Coordination Compound’ question in Chemistry from the April 2 evening shift has been questioned. For a ‘Differential Equation’ question in Mathematics from the April 5 evening shift, students and experts point to a technical flaw. They contend that the question should either be cancelled or that bonus marks should be granted to all candidates.
Further, an objection has been raised against a ‘Thermodynamics’ question in the Physics paper of April 6, along with the option given for a question on the ‘Hydrocarbon’ topic in Chemistry on the same day.
Students argue that the official answers for these 4 questions are not entirely accurate. Candidates were permitted to challenge the answer key until April 13. According to NTA, if any objection is upheld, the corrections will be reflected in the final answer key and the corresponding changes will be applied to the results.
