Skoda Epiq EV to debut internationally on May 19 – Introduction

Skoda has announced that the Epiq EV will debut internationally on May 19, 2026. The Epiq shares its MEB+ platform with the Volkswagen ID Polo and is Skoda’s smallest EV, positioned below the Elroq. Alongside the unveil date, the Czech manufacturer has shared some exterior and interior design sketches, giving a glimpse of its design.

  2. Interior design is similar to that of the Volkswagen ID Polo

The Skoda Epiq was first showcased in a concept avatar in 2024, after which a near-production version was displayed at the 2025 Munich Motor Show.

Skoda Epiq interior design and features

The touchscreen and centre console buttons look similar to the ID Polo’s

Skoda Epiq EV to debut internationally on May 19 – Introduction

The design shown in the Skoda Epiq’s interior sketch resembles the 2025 Munich Motor Show’s near-production concept. It is minimalistic, with a small digital driver’s display, a central touchscreen infotainment system and buttons on the centre console for the AC controls. In fact, the infotainment and the climate control buttons look similar to those on the Volkswagen ID Polo. As the platform is shared, the Epiq could borrow a 13-inch infotainment system and even a 10.24-inch driver’s display from its Volkswagen sibling. The steering wheel is a 2-spoke unit, similar to the one in the Kodiaq and Kushaq available in India.

While Skoda is yet to reveal the full feature suite, it has confirmed that a wireless phone charger and ambient lighting will be offered with the Epiq. The carmaker has also revealed that it can “seat five passengers comfortably” while offering a claimed 475-litre boot space.

The Epiq features a ‘Tech Deck’ face with T-shaped LED daytime running lamps (DRLs) that also function as turn indicators. Beneath the DRLs are the sleek cube-shaped projector LED headlights. The bumper features eight slats with silver trim on the lower side for added contrast. As per Skoda, the Epiq will measure 4.1 metres in length.

In profile, it gets black cladding on wheel arches and lower sections of the body. The outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs) are finished in a body-coloured hue, while the roof rails are black. At the rear are T-shaped tail-lights and a roof-mounted spoiler. The rear bumper has the same 8-slat treatment as the front one.

Skoda Epiq powertrain details

It will have a claimed range of up to 425km

While Skoda has claimed a range of 425km, it has yet to reveal the Epiq’s powertrain details. As the Epiq shares the MEB+ (also called the MEB Entry) platform with the ID Polo, it could be equipped with the same 34kWh and 54kWh battery packs.

Skoda has confirmed that the Epiq will be priced similarly to the combustion-powered Kamiq, which costs 25,535 pounds (a little over Rs 32 lakh) before taxes and duties in the UK. While there is no word regarding this EV’s India debut, if launched, it will lock horns with the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, Maruti e Vitara and Tata Curvv EV
