Announcing the launch of the portal, CBSE shared an update on its official X account. The board stated that the Verification and Re-evaluation Portal is now live and advised students to watch the explainer video to understand the complete process before applying. CBSE added that students can easily apply by following the step-by-step instructions.

CBSE Class 12 Re-Evaluation: Step-By-Step Guide

Step 1 – To apply for re-evaluation, students must first obtain a scanned copy of their evaluated answer sheet. They should carefully check the copy to see if any answers are missing, if there are addition errors, missing pages, or any mistakes in evaluation. If any such discrepancies are found, they should apply for marks verification. If a particular question has been under-marked or incorrectly evaluated, they should apply for re-evaluation for that specific question.

Step 2: Login using your roll number and admit card ID.

Step 3: Choose the verification of Issues option from the dashboard and apply for all subjects in which verification are there and complete the payment.

Step 4: Select the re-evaluation section from the dashboard.

Step 5: Select the subjects in which verification or re-evaluation is required and complete the payment.

Step 6: Save the application form for further use.

Step 7: Make the required payment.

Step 8: Review all details carefully. Submit application.

Step 9: Keep track of your status.

This year, the re-evaluation process has started while CBSE’s new On Screen Marking (OSM) system is under continuous scrutiny. For the first time, the board implemented a large-scale digital checking system, with examiners evaluating students’ scanned answer sheets. After the results were declared, many students raised concerns about the evaluation on social media. Some complained of low marks, while others alleged errors in the scanned copies, blurred images, and inaccurate checking of answers. As a result, interest in re-evaluation increased significantly, and over 4,00,000 applications were received.

CBSE Re-evaluation Fees

In the midst of the OSM controversy and student complaints, CBSE has also made a major reduction in fees for post-result services. The fee is now Rs 100 per subject for the scanned copy, Rs 100 per subject for marks verification, and Rs 25 per question for re-evaluation. Earlier, the fee was Rs 700 for the scanned copy, Rs 500 for marks verification, and Rs 100 per question for re-evaluation. Thus, the board has given substantial relief to students by drastically reducing the fees.

CBSE has further announced that if a student’s marks increase after re-evaluation, the re-evaluation fees charged will be refunded. This decision has been welcomed by both students and parents.
