National Scholarship for Post Graduate Studies (NSPG)

The National Scholarship for Post Graduate Studies (NSPG) has been introduced to support deserving students pursuing higher education by reducing their financial burden.

Students enrolled in the first year of a regular full-time postgraduate programme at a recognised university or institution are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Under the scheme, selected candidates will receive financial assistance of ₹1.5 lakh per year, which will be disbursed in monthly instalments of ₹10,000 over a period of two years. The scholarship aims to encourage students to continue postgraduate studies without worrying about educational expenses.

Ishan Uday Special Scholarship Scheme

The Ishan Uday Special Scholarship Scheme has been designed specifically for students belonging to the North Eastern Region (NER).

To be eligible, candidates must:

  • Have passed Class 12 from a recognised school located in the North Eastern Region.
  • Be admitted to the first year of a regular undergraduate programme in a recognised institution.
  • Meet the prescribed income criteria.

Under this scheme, beneficiaries receive financial assistance ranging from ₹10,000 to ₹80,000 per year, depending on the programme and course pursued. The scholarship is awarded for a period of three to five years, subject to satisfactory academic performance and continuation of the course.

Income Eligibility

For the Ishan Uday Scholarship, the annual family income should not exceed ₹4.5 lakh. Candidates may be required to submit valid income certificates and supporting documents during the application process.

Applicants are advised to keep all necessary documents ready before the NSP registration begins.

How to Apply Through the National Scholarship Portal

Once the application window opens, eligible students can apply by following these steps:

1. Visit the official National Scholarship Portal.

2. Register using a valid mobile number and email ID.

3. Complete the online application form.

Why These Scholarships Matter

The NSPG and Ishan Uday Scholarship schemes play a significant role in promoting higher education by providing financial support to deserving students. While NSPG encourages postgraduate education across the country, the Ishan Uday Scholarship focuses on improving access to quality higher education for students from the North Eastern states.

Students interested in applying should regularly monitor the official National Scholarship Portal for the announcement of application dates and ensure timely submission of their forms to avoid missing the opportunity.
