MPSC Exam Update: The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has postponed the State Services Main Examination 2026, which was scheduled to begin on October 3, the Press Trust of India (PTI) reported on Monday.
The decision comes amid demands from aspirants, parents and student organisations for a review of the examination process. Several representations had reportedly been submitted to the commission seeking a postponement of the exam.
The State Services Main Examination was scheduled to be held on multiple dates beginning October 3. The commission had earlier announced a descriptive examination format, with a question-cum-answer booklet system for candidates.
Why Was The Exam Postponed?
The postponement comes amid ongoing discussions over changes to the MPSC examination system. A state-appointed high-level committee headed by V Radha has been examining issues related to the examination process and is expected to submit its recommendations.
Recent reports have also highlighted concerns among candidates over the security of question papers following alleged paper-leak cases. Some aspirants had demanded that the question papers be prepared afresh and that the examination be held only after concerns over the process were addressed
