Chocolate Coconut Bar
I had a packet of multi coloured dried coconut on my pantry shelf for a while. I was thinking about this recipe for the past few days and finally made it couple weeks back. It was a total success and everyone went crazy for this. It almost tasted more delicious than a bounty bar. I used coloured dried coconut, you can use regular dried coconut.

About No Bake Chocolate Coconut Bars
I love the combination of chocolate and coconut. I have quite a few recipes on my blog too, check my bounty bars, chocolate coconut cake, coconut brownies or check this Indian coconut barfi.
These no-bake chocolate coconut bars are made with just a few simple ingredients like oreo biscuits, butter, chocolate chips, shredded coconut and condensed milk.
The best part is that there is no baking involved. Just crush the oreo biscuits, mix them with melted butter and press them into a pan. Add the coconut condensed milk mixture, finally top with the chocolate layer and refrigerate until firm.
Once set, cut them into bars, and they turned out so good! They were a big hit at home, especially with the kids.
I used multi coloured shredded coconut because that is what I had at home. But regular coconut works just as well. These bars are great for kids snacks, parties or holiday treats to make without much effort.

For making these bars I used chocolate Oreos, you can use any chocolate flavoured biscuits. Because chocolate and coconut pairs well. I used the multi colour coconut which I bought in my local super market. But you can use just regular unsweetened coconut.
One thing I would recommend is to cook the coconut and condensed milk till it is thick. So it stays together when sliced.
These coconut bars can be stored in an air tight container in fridge upto a week or more. Enjoy with your black coffee.
