“Anders Andersson and Fredrik Wallefors both have the experience and drive needed to successfully lead our business into the future, maintaining our commitment to patients, healthcare professionals and customers,” says Karl-Henrik Sundström, Chair of the Board of Directors at Mölnlycke.
Sweden’s Molnlycke has appointed Anders Andersson as CEO of Molnlycke Health Care and Fredrik Wallefors as President of Surgical, effective 1 January 2027.
The company plans to separate into two stand-alone businesses, Molnlycke Health Care and Molnlycke Surgical, under Patricia Industries’ ownership.
The separation is expected to be completed in 2027, subject to customary approvals.
Anders Andersson is currently Executive Vice President (EVP) Wound Care at Mölnlycke and brings to the role a deep understanding of the business and customer needs. “It is an honour to take on the leadership of Mölnlycke Health Care into its next phase of innovation and profitable growth. Together with colleagues across the organisation, we will build on our strong foundations in wound care and infection prevention, while continuing to innovate and adapt new technologies to meet evolving customer needs and raise standards of healthcare worldwide,” Anders says.
Fredrik Wallefors is currently EVP OR Solutions at Mölnlycke and has strong knowledge and experience of the surgical market. “Our intention is to bring together our Operating Room Solutions and Gloves businesses, combining their strong positions in key segments with a broad range of complementary solutions. I look forward to building on these strengths as we continue our journey of profitable growth and support our customers in improving efficiency, safety and outcomes in surgical settings,” Fredrik says.
Mölnlycke has communicated its intention to separate into two stand-alone companies. Until the intended separation is completed, the businesses will continue to operate as Mölnlycke Health Care. From 1 January 2027, Anders Andersson will assume the CEO responsibilities of Mölnlycke Health Care and Fredrik Wallefors will be President of Surgical. The intention is that Fredrik Wallefors will assume the position as CEO of Mölnlycke Surgical if and when the separation and relevant consultations with employee representatives are completed. Guillaume Joucla will continue to serve as interim CEO of Mölnlycke Health Care until the end of 2026.
The intention is for Mölnlycke Health Care and Mölnlycke Surgical to become two stand-alone portfolio companies under Patricia Industries’ ownership. The separation is expected to be completed during 2027, subject to customary approvals.
