My usual go-to recipes for ripe bananas are banana bread, banana smoothie or blueberry banana smoothie. But this time I wanted to try something a little different, so
I turned my favorite banana bread into these easy banana chocolate chip squares. They are simple to make and a great way to use those ripe bananas in the kitchen.

Ingredients
- All purpose flour : I used all purpose flour to make these banana squares soft. You can use whole wheat flour as well.
- Baking powder : Baking powder helps the banana cake rise as they bake.
- Salt : A little salt helps balance the sweetness of the bananas and sugar.
- Butter : Butter adds richness and helps keep the banana squares soft and moist.
- Mashed banana : Use ripe or overripe bananas for the best flavour. Mash them well before adding them to the batter.
- Sugar : You can adjust the amount depending on how sweet your bananas are.
- Brown sugar : Brown sugar adds extra moisture and gives the cake a lovely caramel flavour and deep color.
- Semi sweet chocolate chips : You can also use dark chocolate chips, chocolate chunks or even white chocolate chips if preferred.

Step by Step Pictures
1)Preheat oven to 180 degree C (360 degree F). Line a 20 square baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.

2)Take ripe banana in a bowl and mash it really well.

3)take softened butter in a bowl.

4)Add in brown sugar and regular white sugar.

5)Add in vanilla extract. mix well until creamy and fluffy.

6)Add in banana puree to the butter and mix well.

7)Mix it really well.

8)Add in plain flour. Instead of plain flour, you can use whole wheat flour.

9)Add in baking powder and salt.

10)Fold it gently until it is combined. Add in semi sweet chocolate chips into this and mix well.

11)The batter will be thick.

12)Spoon this into the baking pan and spread evenly.

13)Now bake this for 20 to 30 mins.

14)Remove it and cool down completely. Remove it and slice into squares. Serve.

- Once you add the flour, mix just until everything comes together. Over-mixing can make the cake dense instead of soft.
- Don’t add too much banana, as it can make the cake overly soft or wet. Just add a measured amount of mashed bananas.
- Allow the banana cake to cool before cutting. This helps them set properly and gives you neat squares.

Store the banana squares in an airtight container. It keeps good at room temperature for 2 to 3 days. For longer storage, refrigerate them for a week.
