Dhaka urges Japanese investors to invest in Bangladesh

Bangladesh’s ambassador to Japan Mohammad Daud Ali recently urged entrepreneurs there to invest in his country, assuring them of security and sound investment.

Addressing the ‘Bangladesh Business Seminar’ held at the Bangladesh embassy in Tokyo, Ali encouraged investment in sectors where Bangladesh has significant capabilities and a vast skilled workforce. These include readymade garments (RMG), leather and leather goods, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, food processing, information technology (IT) and infrastructure.

Addressing a seminar organised by the Bangladesh embassy in Tokyo and the Japan External Trade Organization, Ali encouraged investment in sectors where Bangladesh has significant capabilities and a vast skilled workforce.

The event was jointly organised by the embassy and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) to expand the market for Bangladesh export products and raising foreign investment.

Shota Paku, team leader of the industrial park unit at Sumitomo Corporation, briefed participants about the modern and investment-friendly facilities available at the Bangladesh Special Economic Zone, domestic media outlets reported.
