Food makes every celebration memorable. From weddings to highest civilian awards ceremony, a delicious spread is what makes every face happy and go back with sweet memories. And this year’s Civil Investiture Ceremony was no exception. After the felicitations of the awardees at the iconic Darbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi, the awardees swiftly made a move to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s residence where they were hosted with a delicious dinner spread.

As per a video doing rounds on social media, the dinner was served in kansa thali and was a pure vegetarian meal.If we go by the video, it included a bowl of Chaat, Dhokla, Khandvi, Hare Bhare Kebab, Kesari Bhaat, Poha with Sev, Mushroom Kebab, Veg Biryani, and more.

For the uninitiated, Dhokla is a famous Gujarati dish made with besan, sooji, curd, turmeric, salt, sugar, water, and a tempering of oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves, and green chillies. Hare Bhare Kebab is a melt-in-the-mouth treat made with blanched green veggies, blend with soaked dal and seasoned with spices, which is then shallow fried on a greased pan. Kesari Bhaat is a sweet treat made with cooked rice, seasoned with saffron water and topped with sugar syrup, and roasted nuts. Veg Biryani is main course dish made with aromatic rice, layered with marianted veggies, and topped with fried onion and saffron water, which is then cooked on dum and served with salan and raita. Khandvi is a popular and savory snack from the Indian state of Gujarat. It is made from a batter consisting mainly of gram flour (besan), yogurt, and water, which is then seasoned with spices and tempered with mustard seeds and curry leaves.

The dinner party was attended by leading politicians, celebrities, and the awardees. The guest list also saw actor Ram Charan in attendance.
As per reports, Amit Shah is a vegetarian and is a big fan of Gujarati food who loves Poha with Sev the most.
It is reported that the President of India, Droupadi Murmu presented 2 Padma Vibhushan, 9 Padma Bhushan and 56 Padma Shri Awards for the year 2024 at the Civil Investiture Ceremony-II held with grandeur in Darbar Hall of the Rashtrapati Bhawan on Thursday.
