IIT Delhi has announced applications for its Summer Research Fellowship Programme 2026. This prestigious programme offers a valuable opportunity for accomplished BE, BTech, MTech, and ME students to gain advanced research experience during the summer under the mentorship of esteemed faculty. Selected candidates will not only get to stay on the IIT Delhi campus but will also receive a weekly stipend.
As per the official notice by IIT Delhi, the fellowship includes several benefits:
– Sleeper class train fare for travel within India will be covered.
– Hostel accommodation with meals will be provided on the IIT Delhi campus.
– A stipend of Rs 2000 per week will be given.
– Selected students will be registered as visiting students at IIT Delhi without any registration fee.
– Students need to arrange and bear the cost of their own insurance for the duration of the stay.
Important Dates
– Application Start: March 16, 2026
– Last Date: April 3, 2026 (up to 5 PM)
– Selection List: To be released in the first week of May 2026
– Fellowship Duration: May 13, 2026 to July 13, 2026
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must not be students of IIT Delhi. Eligible candidates include undergraduate students who have completed at least two years of engineering and are ranked in the top 10 at their institution, as well as MTech/ME students who have completed at least the first semester, have a minimum of 70% marks or a 7.0 CGPA (out of 10), and are ranked in the top 10.

Applications must be submitted online. Candidates are required to upload the following documents with their application:
– Passport size photo
– Consolidated Marksheet (PDF)
– Rank Certificate
– No Objection Certificate (NOC)
Documents Required
– Photograph file: This should be in jpg format and maximum size allowed is 50 KB.
– No Objection Certificate file: This should be in PDF format and maximum size allowed is 2 MB.
– Rank Certificate file: This should be in PDF format and maximum size allowed is 2 MB.
– Marksheet/ Grade file: This should be in PDF format and maximum size allowed is 2 MB.
