Playing at home always benefits a team. But this season, however, Barcelona turned their home(s) into something of a place where absolutely nobody survived.
Goals from Raphinha and Joao Cancelo helped Barcelona beat Real Betis 3-1 on Sunday night, sealing a flawless home league campaign in what was a perfect end to a league title-winning run.
And with that win, Hansi Flick’s side achieved something no club had ever managed in a 38-game La Liga season.
Barcelona’s Perfect Fortress
Barcelona became the first team in a 20-club La Liga format to win every single home game in a season.

Not unbeaten. Perfect.
Nineteen matches. Nineteen victories. Zero draws. Zero defeats.
Whether it was the temporary Olympic Stadium, the Estadi Johan Cruyff, or the recently renovated Camp Nou, Flick’s Barcelona simply overwhelmed visiting sides week after week.
Historically, only Real Madrid once went unbeaten at home during the 1985-86 campaign, while Barcelona themselves managed 15 consecutive home wins back in 1959-60. But nobody had ever gone perfect in the extended 38-game season.
Remarkably, Barcelona suffered only two home defeats all season across all competitions — both coming in the UEFA Champions League against PSG and Atletico Madrid.
Farewell To Lewandowski
The night also marked Lewandowski’s final appearance in front of the Camp Nou faithful.
The Polish striker, who won three league titles in four seasons with Barcelona, was unable to score in his farewell outing but still received a thunderous ovation from supporters.
“When I arrived in Barcelona, I knew that this club was big; however, thanks to your love, it has been incredible,” Lewandowski said after the match.
“Today I say goodbye to the stadium, but I will always carry Barcelona in my heart.”
