India wants to conclude the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement with Canada by 2026 end and triple bilateral trade by 2030 to $50 million, Indian Minister of Commerce Piyush Goyal said during his three-day visit to Canada that began yesterday.
Goyal met Canadian Minister of International Trade Maninder Sidhu and discussed priorities in key sectors.
He will meet CEOs of big Canadian corporations.
“I’ve come with the largest ever business delegation that stepped out of India ever in our history. A hundred and twelve Indian businesses have taken off from India. This clearly demonstrates that there’s a huge interest in this partnership,” Goyal said.
He will interact with chief executive officers of major Canadian corporations and key start-up founders.
Sidhu announced that he is looking forward to bringing a business delegation to India this year.
The third round of CEPA talks will be hosted by Canada.
