ITA Airways will resume its direct service between Rome Fiumicino Airport and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from September 15, 2026, restoring connectivity between the two cities with five weekly flights.The route will operate on five days a week. Flight AZ838 will depart Rome Fiumicino at 3:05 pm and arrive in Riyadh at 9:20 pm local time, operating daily except Mondays and Saturdays. The return service, Flight AZ839, will depart Riyadh at 1:45 am local time and arrive in Rome at 6:15 am, operating daily except Tuesdays and Sundays.According to the airline, the resumed service reflects its strategy to strengthen air connectivity between Italy and Saudi Arabia, which it identified as a growing market, particularly for business travel.The airline said passengers travelling from Riyadh will also gain access to onward connections through its Rome Fiumicino hub, linking them to destinations across Italy, Europe and the carrier’s intercontinental network.The resumption of the route is expected to support both business and leisure travel between the two countries while enhancing travel options through Rome, one of ITA Airways’ primary hubs.Tickets for the Rome-Riyadh service are now available through the airline’s website, customer information assistance office, travel agencies and airport ticket offices.
