Rising fuel prices, coupled with the government’s push for eco-friendly transport and its clear discouragement of diesel, have significantly boosted demand for CNG vehicles (it was the second-most popular fuel type in India’s passenger vehicle market in FY2026).
In response, mass-market carmakers such as Maruti, Tata, Hyundai and Toyota have expanded their CNG portfolios, especially in the SUV space. Unlike earlier, when CNG kits were limited to bare-bones base variants, many brands now offer them across multiple trims, making feature-rich CNG SUVs more accessible. Keep reading to discover the list of the most affordable cars in India with a factory-fitted CNG kit.
