NAGPUR: The city police have set a 30-day deadline to file the chargesheet in the Hudkeshwar BDSM horror case that involved the torture of a 16-year-old Class 12 student in captivity by a Thane youth.The chargesheet will be scrutinised by a special public prosecutor and police will also move for a fast-track trial, said joint police commissioner Navinchandra Reddy.The child welfare committee (CWC), which visited the survivor and her family on Monday, has roped in a professional psychologist to help in recovery of trauma, said CWC chairperson Chhaya Gurav.A special team from Regional Forensic Science Laboratory is engaged in data extraction, decoding, deciphering embedded codes from devices seized from the Dighori flat and the Thane residence of the accused to zero in on other potential victims.Guardian minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, who reviewed the case on Monday, lauded Hudkeshwar police for the swift rescue.Police commissioner Vishwas Nangre Patil, joint police commissioner Navinchandra Reddy and the investigation team explained the operation to the minister.The teenager, daughter of a senior govt official, was held hostage, subjected to repeated sexual assault, whipped with a metal-studded leather belt and inflicted with around 20 knife injuries using a surgical blade by her 19-year-old Instagram friend from Thane.The accused was discharged from hospital and sent to Nagpur Central Jail late Saturday and lodged in the ‘adaan cell’ barrack, meant for new entrants, with the concerned jail personnel keeping vigil to prevent any untoward incident.The case triggered concern over the online grooming of minors through social media and multiple gaming platforms.Police had recovered a BDSM kit, sex toys, handcuffs, knives, nylon rope, sprays, sex-enhancing pills and drug-laced chocolates from the flat – all allegedly purchased online.
