NBEMS has apologised to the candidates who faced difficulties during NEET PG at the Jaipur exam centre and said a re-examination will be held on September 5 at 3 pm.

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has set up a three-member panel to investigate the power supply failure that disrupted the NEET PG 2026 examination at two centres in Jaipur’s Sitapura area, according to NBEMS sources.
The affected centres were located at the iON Digital Zone iDZ facilities in Sitapura, where candidates were unable to complete the examination after an internal power supply problem disrupted the test. The panel will look into the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine what led to the failure during the examination.
The committee will be headed by Gayatri Rathore, Principal Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Rajasthan government. A senior state government official, a Joint Secretary-level representative from the Union Health Ministry and a senior engineering official from the Central Electricity Authority are also part of the panel.
The committee will assess the incident and submit its findings within the prescribed timeframe, NBEMS sources said.
The probe comes after NBEMS announced a fresh examination for the 2,445 candidates whose NEET PG test was affected at the two Sitapura centres. The re-examination will be held on September 5 at 3 pm in Jaipur.
NBEMS has apologised to the candidates who faced difficulties during the examination and said the decision to conduct a re-test was taken to ensure that all affected candidates are given a fair and equal opportunity to appear for the examination.
The disruption had earlier prompted officials to review the technical problems at the centres. Jaipur ADM Narendra Verma said on Sunday that authorities had discussed the incident with the TCS technical team, government officials, the flying squad and power supply and inspection teams. He said repeated system failures had made it impossible to continue the examination at the affected centres, leading to the decision to conduct a fresh test.
“We have discussed the entire situation, the technical failure that occurred, the manner in which it happened, and the system’s failure to handle the load despite repeated attempts, with the TCS technical team, our own officials, the flying squad, the power supply and inspection teams. Acknowledging that the students should not face injustice, especially given the repeated system failures that made it impossible to conduct the exam here, they have ensured that a re-examination will be held on September 5 at 3 pm,” Verma told reporters.
While the minister Jogaram Patel said, “More than 300 exams have been conducted across Rajasthan under our government, none of which are under suspicion. Yesterday’s NEET exam is also not under suspicion. There might have been a power management issue at some center. There’s no need to make a fuss about it. The government immediately canceled the exams at those centers and has formed a committee for investigation.”
The NEET PG 2026 examination was taken by 2,65,980 candidates across the country. While the examination was completed successfully for approximately 2,63,535 candidates, the test could not be completed for the candidates appearing at the two affected Sitapura centres.
