Ludhiana market recorded a drop of &#****;** per kg in various counts and varieties of cotton yarn. The prices fell due to slow demand in domestic and export markets. Spinning mills are feeling pressure to find new export orders. A trader from Ludhiana market told Fibre*Fashion, “Spinning mills are struggling to find new export orders. They have very few export commitments for the next few weeks. However, the market is hopeful for better lifting of cotton yarn from export as well as domestic markets. Forthcoming festival season may provide relief to spinning mills and downstream industry in the country.”
In Ludhiana, ** count cotton combed yarn was sold at &#****;***–*** (~$*.**–*.**) per kg (inclusive of GST); ** and ** count combed yarn were traded at &#****;***–*** (~$*.**–*.**) per kg and &#****;***–*** (~$*.**–*.**) per kg, respectively; and carded yarn of ** count was noted at &#****;***–*** (~$*.**–*.**) per kg today, according to trade sources.
