The Philadelphia 76ers beat the Chicago Bulls 126-107, and afterward Joel Embiid was asked how the team’s new look sits with him. He didn’t dodge. The adjustment has been rough, he said, but he’s keeping his eyes on the next game and trusting teamwork to get the 76ers more wins. A reporter asked Embiid at the post-game conference how comfortable he feels in the new setup. “For me it’s a little bit of an adjustment. I’m such a rhythm guy, and over the years, obviously, I’ve had a lot of opportunities to just touch the ball,” he said.
“You know, almost every other possession, and now sometimes you can just go four or five possessions in a row where you don’t touch the ball. It’s kind of like an adjustment where I’m not used to catch-and-shoot as much, I’m used to more creating for myself. So I’m working on that.”
He wants to get his teammates more looks. “But I think my mindset is really on whenever I have the ball, make plays you know make the game easy for all these guys, making the right play over and over, setting screens, getting Tyrese as open as much as possible.” The role, as he put it, is simple. “For all these guys, just kind of being a hub, try to get these guys open and make plays for themselves. That’s really what the focus is on.”
Philadelphia 76ers Secure Their 7th Win
The 76ers are rolling. The win kept them in first place in the Eastern Conference. Tyrese Maxey poured in a game-high 26 points, and Jaylen Brown chipped in 25.
Chicago’s Caleb led the Bulls with 24 points, with Norman Powell adding 18. The Bulls travel to face the New York Knicks next, while the 76ers host the Detroit Pistons.
