Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas have often spoken about embracing each other’s cultures and traditions, with their cross-cultural marriage becoming an example of how mutual understanding can strengthen a relationship. Priyanka has now opened up about the importance of Nick’s respect for her Indian roots, revealing that it plays a significant role in their bond.

The couple first sparked dating rumours after appearing together at the 2017 Met Gala. Their relationship progressed quickly, with Nick proposing to Priyanka in July 2018 after two months of dating. The singer reportedly even shut down the Tiffany & Co. store in London while looking for an engagement ring weeks before the proposal. Priyanka and Nick later married in India in two ceremonies.
Speaking to E! News about Nick’s understanding of her Indian culture and traditions, Priyanka highlighted how important it is for partners in multicultural relationships to respect each other’s backgrounds. She said, “I don’t know if I’d love him if he didn’t. That is a big part of any story or any relationship that is multicultural. I think it’s really important to have a sense of respect for your partner’s roots.”
Priyanka also spoke about what helps keep their relationship strong, stressing the importance of kindness between partners. She said, “Being kind to your partner. That’s something that’s really important.”
Nick has frequently accompanied Priyanka on her trips to India and has participated in Indian festivals and traditions. He has also been seen enjoying Indian food. During her upcoming appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show, Priyanka is expected to share another romantic anecdote about Nick. She revealed that he once took her above the clouds in his plane so she could see the moon and break her Karva Chauth fast. Calling him deeply romantic, she said, “Apne plane mein clouds ke upar leke gaye aur chaand dekh ke vrat toda.”
On the work front, Priyanka has SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi lined up with Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film is scheduled for a Sankranti 2027 release. She also has the second season of Citadel and the sci-fi action thriller Bluefly in her upcoming projects.
