This is the biggest Pre-Diwali start, as the film has broken the long-standing record of Salman Khan-led Tiger 3, which opened at Rs. 44 crore on Diwali day. Ramayana will see a dip in business on Friday, but the Saturday figure could top the opening day, and even hit the Rs. 60 crore mark as the reports are supremely positive.

The four-day pre-Diwali weekend of Ramayana is expected to be in the range of Rs. 210 crore, and then it’s expected to peak from Monday to Wednesday, doubling from the Pre-Diwali total. The business is phenomenal all across the board, as the two leads – Ranbir Kapoor and Yash are flexing their stardom despite a conventionally lull period.

The national chains are looking to collect around Rs 30 crore on Thursday, contributing 55 per cent to the total business. The film has a wide release on over 20,000 shows in North India, and the peak capacity is expected to be achieved on Monday.

One must remember that Ramayana has got a limited release in the South by the distributor partners in the Southern Markets, and the restrained release has cost it at least Rs. 5 crore in Hindi.
