Ranbir Kapoor and Yash starrer Ramayana – Part I has registered an impressive opening at the worldwide box office, collecting Rs. 121.62 crores gross on its first day. The much-awaited mythological epic, which has generated considerable anticipation among audiences across markets, has made a strong start globally, with substantial contributions coming from both India and overseas territories. The collections represent the film’s combined business across all languages.

As per the opening day figures, Ramayana – Part I has collected Rs. 62.47 crores nett from the Indian market, translating into a gross collection of Rs. 74.37 crores. The overseas markets have contributed another Rs. 47.25 crores gross, taking the film’s worldwide opening day collection to Rs. 121.62 crores gross. The overseas contribution is particularly noteworthy, accounting for a sizeable portion of the film’s global opening.
However, despite the impressive numbers, Ramayana – Part I has failed to surpass the worldwide opening day record of Adipurush. The Prabhas starrer, which released in 2023, had collected Rs. 140 crores gross worldwide on its first day. In comparison, Ramayana – Part I has fallen short of that benchmark by Rs. 18.38 crores, thereby missing out on the opportunity to emerge as the biggest worldwide opening day grosser among Indian mythological films.
Interestingly, the overseas business of Ramayana – Part I has played a significant role in pushing its global tally beyond the Rs. 120 crore mark on Day 1. With Rs. 47.25 crores coming from international territories, the film has demonstrated considerable appeal beyond the domestic market. Meanwhile, its India gross of Rs. 74.37 crores indicates a strong theatrical response at home, with the film managing to cross the Rs. 60 crore nett mark on its opening day.
While the film has not managed to beat the worldwide opening of Adipurush, a Rs. 121.62 crore global start remains a significant achievement. The focus will now shift to its performance over the opening weekend, particularly how well it manages to sustain its collections in India and overseas. The subsequent trajectory will be crucial in determining whether Ramayana – Part I can build on its strong start and emerge as one of the biggest worldwide box office successes of the year.
With a worldwide gross of Rs. 121.62 crores on Day 1, Ramayana – Part I has certainly made its presence felt at the global box office. However, the Rs. 140 crore opening day benchmark set by Adipurush remains beyond its reach for now.
