Bharath Singh-trained Ramiel (Antony up) won the Zavaray S. Poonawalla Bangalore St. Leger (2,800m), the chief event of the concluding day races held here on Friday (July 31). The winner is owned by Mr. Joydeep Datta Gupta, Mr. Sanjay Datta Gupta, M/s Poddar Leasing and Growth Pvt Ltd, Mr. Pratik Chitlangia, Mr. Indrajit Roy, Mr. Achuthan Siddharth, Mr. Jeet Banerjee, Miss. Antony, who confidently kept his gelding in a handy third last position till 600m, gradually improved to fourth rounding the bend, before manoeuvring his mount from the outside in the home stretch. Ramiel started galloping with giant strides and overtook the leader Duke Of Tuscany in the last 50m to win resolutely.
