“I have no problem with Mourinho. He seems like a great professional to me. I don’t want him at Real Madrid. I think other coaches would be better equipped to coach at the club of my life. Personal opinion. Nothing more.”
Casillas, who served the club faithfully for over two decades, had a rocky relationship with Mourinho during one of his two stints at the decorated Spanish capital city club.
Real Madrid boss Florentino Perez, who went on a fiery rant on Tuesday after the club conceded the Spanish top-flight title to arch-rivals Barcelona in timid fashion, is expected to reach an agreement with Mourinho after the conclusion of the Portuguese league with the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ serving at the helm of Benfica currently.
Real Madrid have missed out on the league title two season in a row and have also been ousted from the UCL this year as Los Blancos president Perez look to find the right man for the hot seat after having parted ways with Xabi Alonso earlier in the season, with Alvaro Arbeloa serving as the interim boss.
