Sara Ali Khan has returned to Kedarnath for prayers amid the ongoing discussion surrounding a proposed affidavit requirement for non-Hindus visiting the shrine. The actor reportedly reached the temple by helicopter around October 25 and joined the regular queue to offer prayers, waiting for approximately 30 minutes despite snowfall and cold weather.

According to reports, Sara participated in puja and aarti during her visit and did not seek special treatment. Her trip has drawn attention as it comes months after the Badri-Kedar Temple Committee (BKTC) said that non-Hindus wishing to visit Kedarnath and Badrinath could be asked to submit a written affidavit affirming their faith in Sanatan Dharma.
No public confirmation exists on whether Sara submitted an affidavit before entering the temple. Her visit alone does not establish whether the proposed requirement has been implemented or what arrangements were followed in her case.
Why is Sara Ali Khan’s Kedarnath visit in focus?
In March 2026, the BKTC proposed requiring non-Hindus seeking entry to Kedarnath and Badrinath to submit a written declaration affirming their faith in Sanatan Dharma. The proposal was approved by the committee and forwarded to the Uttarakhand government for consideration.
Sara was specifically mentioned in the discussion because of her frequent visits to Kedarnath over the years. The actor made her Bollywood debut with Kedarnath, which was filmed in the region, and has regularly returned to the shrine since then.
At the time, BKTC chairman Hemant Dwivedi addressed the question of Sara’s future visits, saying, “If she says that she has belief in Sanatan and submits an affidavit, we will allow her for darshan.”
Sara’s visits to Kedarnath have been a recurring part of her public life since her debut film. She has often shared glimpses of her spiritual trips, making the shrine a familiar destination for her beyond her film commitments.
This time, reports said she arrived by helicopter and waited alongside other devotees during the snowfall. She also offered prayers and participated in aarti during the visit.
On the professional front, Sara was recently seen in Udta Teer, a spy comedy co-starring Ayushmann Khurrana. Directed by Aakash A Kaushik, the film was released in theatres on October 23, 2026. Earlier this year, she appeared in Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, which was released in May.
