Cotton yarn prices showed a mixed trend as some counts and varieties of cotton yarn recorded gains of &#****;*–* (~$*.**–*.**) per kg in Mumbai. But selected counts and varieties traded lower by &#****;*–* (~$*.**–*.**) per kg. A trader from the Mumbai market told Fibre*Fashion, “Cotton yarn for several counts and varieties found support from rising cotton prices. Traders and weavers had largely exhausted their yarn stocks and replenished their inventories in anticipation of lower prices from mills. However, weakness was seen in a few counts and varieties of cotton yarn. Limited movement in fabrics and persistent payment constraints were negative factors for the market. Weak liquidity continues to affect buying sentiment.”
