Vietnam’s textile IIP rises 8.6% YoY in Q1 2026; RMG up 8.4%

Vietnam’s index of industrial production (IIP) increased by 9 per cent year on year (YoY) in the first quarter (Q1) this year—the strongest growth in seven years, according to the National Statistics Office (NSO).

The rise was driven primarily by the manufacturing and processing sector, which grew by 9.7 per cent YoY in the quarter and contributed 7.6 per cent to overall IIP growth, according to domestic media reports.

Vietnam’s index of industrial production (IIP) rose by 9 per cent YoY in Q1 2026—the strongest in seven years, driven mainly by manufacturing and processing, which grew by 9.7 per cent YoY and contributed 7.6 per cent to IIP growth.
The IIPs for textiles and garments rose by 8.6 per cent and 8.4 per cent YoY respectively during Q1.
The March IIP rose by 18.8 per cent month on month and 6.9 per cent YoY.

The IIP for textiles increased by 8.6 per cent and that of garments rose by 8.4 per cent YoY during the quarter.

Growth in industrial production was witnessed across all 34 localities in the country.

The IIP in March was estimated to increase by 18.8 per cent month on month (MoM) and by 6.9 per cent YoY.
