Nagpur: Orange Sports Association will conduct a seven-a-side futsal tournament at the twin turfs of Bishop Cotton School ground from Aug 15 to 29.The Battle Ground football tournament, a registered event of the Nagpur District Football Association (NDFA), will be organised in various categories on weekends, informed Johny Bernard on Monday. He said, “The tournament will be organised for corporates, professional players and girls. Matches will be played in an all-play-all league format followed by knockout round from the semifinal stage. Sports Physiotherapy team of Dr Kevin Agrawal will support the tournament.”In the initial phase, the tournament will be played for corporate teams and girls, while the professional league will be played in Sept.Agrawal said, “Playing on turf is a different experience and amateur players could suffer injuries. Our team of physiotherapists will look to calm the players while taking care of their injuries.”Bernard said, “All matches will be played for 28 minutes divided in two halves. A total of eight corporate teams and four in the girls section will participate in the tournament. The podium finishers will be given attractive trophies.” International player Mrunal Shamkuwar was present.
