Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has extended the registration deadline for admission to classes 9 and 11. As per NVS, applications can now be submitted until October 21. The application form is available on the official website, cbseitms.nic.in.
The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST 2026) for admission to classes 9 and 11 will be conducted on February 7, from 11 AM to 1:30 PM. “The last date to apply for classes IX & XI LEST 2026 has been extended up to 07.10.2025,” states the official notice.
JNVST Admission 2026: Eligibility Criteria
Students must be bona fide residents of the district where they wish to apply and must be studying in the same district. Applicants for class 9 must be born between May 1, 2011, and July 31, 2013 (both dates inclusive). They must be presently enrolled in class 8 at one of the government or government-recognized schools.
While applicants for class 11 must be studying in class 10 in a Government or Government-recognised school located in the same district as the NVS where admission is sought. The candidate must be born between June 1, 2009, and July 31, 2011.
JNVST 2026: How To Apply
Step 1. Visit the official website: cbseitms.nic.in
Step 2. Carefully read the notification and guidelines issued for the respective class before applying.
Step 3. Complete the required information as per the instructions.
Step 4. Upload the required documents:
– Birth Certificate
– Aadhaar card or identity card
– Passport size photo
– Class Certificate (if applicable)
– Residence certificate (if applicable)
Step 5. After filling in all the information and documents correctly, submit the application.
Navodaya Vidyalaya Entrance Exam Pattern
Navodaya Vidyalaya has also released the entrance exam pattern and syllabus. The exam will last two hours and 30 minutes, with an additional 50 minutes for students with disabilities. The exam will consist of 100 objective-type questions.
The Class 6 entrance exam will include 15 questions in English, 35 in Mathematics, and 35 in General Knowledge. Similarly, the Class 11 entrance exam will include 20 questions each in Mental Ability, English, Science, Social Science, and Mathematics.
