Nissan will make a comeback to the popular mid-size SUV segment with the Tekton. Built on the CMF-B platform shared with the Renault Duster, the SUV will be unveiled in February 2026, with a launch expected by June 2026. While the carmaker so far has only shared teasers of the Tekton, here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming SUV.
1. What will Nissan Tekton’s exterior design be like?

From what teasers have revealed so far, the Tekton will feature a connected LED DRL at the front with LED headlamps. The bonnet gets muscular ridges with Tekton branding near the bonnet edge. The rear gets a connected LED taillamp setup with ‘Tekton’ badging on the tailgate. The exterior design will take inspiration from the flagship Patrol SUV, with spy shots of the SUV suggesting a rugged-looking on-road presence.
2. What engines will be on offer with the Nissan Tekton?
The Tekton will likely be powered by petrol engines only. Likely engine options include a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 156hp, and a Magnite-derived 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine for the lower variants, albeit in a higher state of tune. While there’s no official confirmation of a strong hybrid powertrain, it could likely make its way into the Tekton as well at a later date, following the Duster’s strong-hybrid launch. For reference, the Duster sold overseas gets a 1.6-litre strong-hybrid engine that produces 149hp.
3. What will Nissan Tekton’s interior be like?
While teasers of the interior haven’t been revealed so far, the Tekton’s cabin could feature a three-tone dashboard. The features list could include a digital driver’s display, a touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, front seat ventilation and a sunroof. In terms of safety, the Tekton could come with 6 airbags as standard, ABS and EBD, a 360-degree camera with a blind-spot monitor, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, and TPMS.
4. Will there be a 7-seater version of the Tekton?

While the Tekton will be sold as a 5-seater, Nissan has confirmed a 7-seater derivative of the SUV that will be unveiled in 2027. Nissan confirms that the 7-seater derivative will not be an ‘extended-Tekton’, but a different product altogether, as a badge-engineered counterpart to the Renault Boreal/Bigster.
5. What is the expected price of the Nissan Tekton?
Nissan Tekton is expected to be priced on par with its badge-engineered Renault sibling. Prices could likely range between Rs 11 lakh to Rs 19 lakh.
6. Which cars will the Nissan Tekton go up against?
The Nissan Tekton will compete with the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Tata Sierra, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and MG Astor.
