Abhilash, a resident of Pallu town in Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh district, has secured All India Rank (AIR) 11 in NEET UG 2026. What makes his achievement even more special is that he appeared for the exam in Hindi medium and scored 705 out of 720 marks.
Coming from a farmer’s family, Abhilash achieved this success through hard work, discipline, and consistent preparation despite limited resources.
Abhilash had planned to appear for NEET while he was in Class 12, but he could not take the exam because he did not meet the minimum age requirement. He then took a gap year and dedicated himself completely to preparation. His focused efforts paid off as he secured an excellent rank in his very first attempt.
His journey was not without challenges. The original NEET exam was cancelled due to a paper leak, forcing candidates to appear again. Despite the uncertainty, Abhilash remained calm and continued preparing. He said he had expected around 705 marks in the first exam and scored the same in the re-exam, which boosted his confidence.
Abhilash decided to become a doctor at a young age. He moved to Sikar in Class 11 to prepare for NEET. Since no one in his family had experience with competitive exams, his uncle, who is a teacher, encouraged him to pursue medicine and advised him to join coaching in Sikar.
Sharing his preparation strategy, Abhilash said consistency was the biggest factor behind his success. He revised everything taught in coaching on the same day and spent 5 to 6 hours on self-study every day. He preferred studying at night because of the peaceful environment and often continued his studies until 1 am while revising his notes daily.
During his preparation, Abhilash stayed away from mobile phones and social media to avoid distractions. However, he believes that mobile phones can be useful if they are used only for online learning and educational purposes.
The NEET UG re-exam results 2026 were released on July 16.
Key strategies for NEET success include disciplined preparation, consistent study, and regular revision of NCERT textbooks. Toppers emphasize hard work, smart study, and focusing on strengthening concepts.
