About Chocolate Glaze Recipe
Chocolate glaze is a simple way to make any dessert taste richer and more special. This smooth and glossy glaze is made using basic ingredients like icing sugar, butter and cocoa powder.
This glaze is so easy and practical. It is a no fail recipe as well. All you need is combine, regular sugar with water and butter in a sauce pan to melt together. The pour the melted liquid into icing sugar and cocoa.
I used a whisk to mix this whole thing until creamy and glossy. Because of the butter and regular sugar, your glaze will have a sheen to it. If you are making a huge batch you can use an electric beater to mix. And I found that sifting the icing sugar and cocoa helps removing any lump.

FAQ
Q. Difference between chocolate glaze and chocolate ganache ?
Chocolate glaze is lighter, sweeter and made without cream and chocolate, which makes it easy to make and spread on desserts. Chocolate ganache is made with chocolate and cream and tastes extra richer and silkier. It can be used as a glaze, filling or thick frosting depending upon usage.
Q. Can I make the glaze in advance ?
Yes, you can prepare the icing ahead of time and store it until needed. Make sure to cover it properly and bring it back to room temperature for correct spreadable consistency.
Q. Why is my icing not smooth ?
This usually happens when the dry ingredients are not mixed properly. Always sift the cocoa powder and sugar and whisk well to get a smooth, lump-free texture.
Q. Why is my glaze too thin or too thick ?
If the glaze is too thin, it may still be warm. So, allow it to cool as it will thicken over time. If it becomes too thick after cooling, add a few drops of warm water and mix again to adjust the consistency.
