Classic Legends is going to launch a motorcycle on April 23, however it isn’t known if this model will be a BSA Scrambler 650 or the updated Yezdi Scrambler, since both brands have a scrambler model in the works. That said, the launch is slated for April 23, where we would learn what route the brand takes.
1. Classic Legends could launch a model under the Yezdi or the BSA brand
2. We reported last year that the Yezdi Scrambler is slated for a substantial update
3. BSA Scrambler was unveiled in the UK last year
Classic Legends Scrambler: What to expect?
The Yezdi Scrambler hasn’t been updated recently like the Roadster and Adventure models.
Classic Legends, parent company of the now resurrected trifecta, Jawa, Yezdi and BSA has sent out an invite for an event dated April 23. We have learned that it could be a scrambler model. However, Classic Legends hasn’t confirmed under which brand this upcoming model will be launched.
Yezdi’s current lineup already has a Scrambler model, but that hasn’t been updated recently, like the Roadster and Adventure models. We exclusively reported last year that Yezdi Scrambler will get a substantial upgrade and weight loss. Classic Legends could launch the updated Yezdi Scrambler or the BSA Scrambler based on the Gold Star 650.
The BSA Scrambler 650 is based on the Gold Star’s platform. What differentiates the Scrambler 650 is its wheel-size, suspension travel and intent. It runs on a 19/17-inch (F/R) setup with a longer travel suspension than the Gold Star.
Last year, BSA launched the Scrambler in the UK at GBP 5,999 (Rs 6.96 lakh), while the Gold Star is listed on the UK website between GBP 5,499 and GBP 5,999 (Rs 6.38-6.96 lakh). Based on UK pricing, the difference between the two models is approximately Rs 50,000. In India, the Gold Star 650 is priced between Rs 3.22 and 3.46 lakh, and we expect the Scrambler 650 to carry a similar premium when it eventually launches here. Classic Legends launched the Gold Star 650 in 2024 and since then, it has been the sole offering under the BSA umbrella.
The Scrambler 650 will be powered by the same engine as the Gold Star 650. For reference, it comes powered by a 652cc, single-cyl, liquid-cooled engine that produces 45hp at 6,500rpm and 55Nm at 4,000rpm, mated to a six-speed gearbox.
What the brand eventually decides to launch will be revealed on April 23 at its official event.
