The FIFA World Cup 2026 is just around the corner and the familiar image of pop sensation Shakira extending the quadrennial event her own style of welcome is the talk of the town, yet again.

Shakira’s new number ‘Dai,Dai’ dropped on Saturday, bolstering the craze for the spectacle slated to be held in USA, Canada and Mexico.

The video also features a number of star who are set to be part of the spectacle, including Argentine superstar Lionel Messi, French talisman Kylian Mbappe, Colombian superstar Luis Diaz, Brazilian winger Vinicius Jr, Spanish midfield general Rodri, Japanese sensation Takefusa Kubo, Santiago Giménez, Canadian full-back Alphonso Davies, German wunderkind Jamal Musiala, USA icon Christian Pulisic, English skipper Harry Kane and Norwegian star Erling Haaland

Shakira’s association with the spectacle dates back to the year 2006 when she performed her iconic ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ at the closing ceremony in Germany, before amplifying the appeal of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa with the iconic ‘Waka, Waka’.

She also released ‘La, La, La’ ahead of the World Cup in Brazil in the year 2014, before returning to the fray with ‘Dai, Dai’ for the upcoming edition of the showpiece, that will feature 42 teams for the first time ever in the history of the competition.

Argentina will look to defend the World Cup crown when the biggest show on earth gets underway in North America in July.
