A new, more contemporary retail concept was officially unveiled at Milan Fashion Week by Le Silla, the luxury brand of women’s shoes and handbags founded in 1994 in Porto Sant’Elpidio, Italy.

“Yes, that was precisely the aim: to create a more cosmopolitan space using materials rarely seen in accessories boutiques, notably steel,” Enio Silla, co-founder (alongside creative director and brand manager Monica Ciabattini), as well as owner, sole shareholder, and designer of Le Silla, tells FashionNetwork.com. “Fortunately, it was built in-house, then dismantled and reassembled on site here in Milan, because otherwise assembling it locally would have been extremely complex. My thanks therefore go to the architect who has been working with me for 30 years and has designed all the Le Silla stores worldwide, the showroom and the headquarters, although it is always a team effort together with the design department.”

Le Silla ended 2025 bucking the market trend, which has been so heavily influenced by the global geopolitical crisis and the decline in spending on luxury goods. “We’re seeing double-digit growth,” says Enio Silla, inside the new store at Via Sant’Andrea 3, “with group turnover of around €25 million (approximately €5 million more than in 2024, ed.), with the United States – particularly for e-commerce – and the Middle East (especially in brick-and-mortar stores) as our most important markets.”

“Not to mention,” continues the entrepreneur, “the Balkans, a key market for Le Silla, not least financially, with countries experiencing significant growth, such as Serbia and Croatia. Recently, Poland has also made a strong leap forward,” he notes. “We see this above all through monitoring our e-shop, a highly significant channel for us – in fact, the fastest-growing of all – both our official e-commerce site and our presence on Farfetch, which is particularly important in markets where it is very difficult to reach customers directly from Italy, such as Mexico or Brazil, due to duties.”

Romania also makes a significant contribution to Le Silla’s turnover, but in Belgrade a store in the city is set to become a “fully fledged, directly operated mono-brand store,” reveals the co-founder, adding that in future the Marche-based company will also look to the world’s fastest-growing markets, such as Mexico, India, and the Far East – particularly Singapore. “Indeed, we have a few other store-opening projects in the pipeline in Europe and in the East, which will come to fruition shortly,” confirms Enio Silla.
