Mercedes-Benz has launched new Night Edition versions of the GLE and GLS SUVs in India. The GLE Night Edition is priced from Rs 1.05 crore, whereas the GLS Night Edition is priced from Rs 1.41 crore, both prices ex-showroom. The Night Edition SUVs get a darkened theme inside and out, along with some new equipment. However, these will be available in limited numbers.

The GLE Night Edition diesel costs Rs 5 lakh more than the regular diesel variant, while the petrol variant commands a premium of Rs 3.50 lakh. As for the GLS Night Edition, the petrol and diesel variants cost Rs 3.50 lakh and Rs 3.30 lakh more than their regular counterparts, respectively.
Mercedes GLE and GLS Night Edition: What’s new?
New to the GLE and GLS Night Editions are two exclusive exterior paint finishes: Alpine Grey and Obsidian Black. They also get blacked-out wing mirrors, gloss-black trims on the bumpers and a black roof. Inside, both models come with black Nappa leather upholstery, Anthracite open-pore oak wooden trim and black door sills.
One notable upgrade that the GLE Night Edition gets over the standard model is air suspension. This is also the first time a 4-cylinder engine-powered GLE has been offered with the Airmatic suspension. Both models also feature a head-up display as standard, while the GLS even gets a pair of rear entertainment screens.
Mercedes GLE and GLS Night Edition: powertrain and specs
Both the GLE and GLS Night Edition models are available with petrol and diesel engines. The GLE gets a 270hp/550Nm 2.0-litre 4-cylinder diesel or a 380hp/500Nm 3.0-litre 6-cylinder petrol engine. Meanwhile, the GLS is powered by either a 380hp 3.0-litre inline-6 petrol or a 367hp 3.0-litre inline-6 diesel. Both get a 9-speed automatic transmission and 4Matic all-wheel drive; air suspension is also standard on all the Night Edition models.
