Retail turnover in the non-food sector rose 3.1 per cent YoY in June, while sales volume increased 2.6 per cent. In contrast, footwear, leather goods and home furnishings retailers recorded lower turnover than a year earlier, CBS said in a press release.
Dutch retail turnover rose 2.9 per cent YoY in June 2026, with sales volume up 2.5 per cent, Statistics Netherlands data showed.
Non-food turnover rose 3.1 per cent and volume 2.6 per cent, but footwear, leather goods and home furnishings retailers declined.
Online retail grew 7.5 per cent, led by nearly 10 per cent at internet-first retailers and nearly 6 per cent at multi-channel sellers.
The retail turnover figures had been adjusted for the shopping days in June, as more is sold on certain days of the week than on others. Without this adjustment, retail turnover in June would have been 4.3 per cent higher than in June 2025.
Among online retailers, turnover increased by 7.5 per cent YoY in June. Retailers whose core activity is selling goods and services over the internet recorded turnover growth of nearly 10 per cent, while multi-channel retailers, for which online sales are a secondary activity, posted online turnover growth of nearly 6 per cent.
