Princess Diana’s childhood home is also where she was laid to rest, but the sprawling estate will not one day belong to either of her sons, Prince William or Prince Harry.
Althorp, the Spencer family’s historic estate in Northamptonshire, has been in the family for more than 500 years. Diana lived there from the age of 14, after her father, John Spencer, became the 8th Earl Spencer and inherited the property.
Today, the estate belongs to Diana’s younger brother, Charles Spencer, the 9th Earl Spencer. And when he dies, it will pass to his son, Louis, Viscount Althorp.
