Tata has revealed the updated Tiago and Tiago EV, while confirming that both hatchbacks will launch on May 28, 2026. Tata has thoroughly revised the exterior design of both the Tiago ICE and Tiago EV, making it look bolder than before.
- Gets new headlights, tail-lights and alloy designs
- Likely to get a new instrument cluster and 6 airbags as standard
Tata Tiago, Tiago EV facelifts: What to expect?
Except for a new instrument cluster, all else is expected to be the same
With the 2025 model year update, Tata thoroughly revised the Tiago ICE and Tiago EV’s cabins, with a redesigned dashboard featuring a new steering wheel with an illuminated logo and a 10.25-inch infotainment system. However, it got an outdated-looking instrument cluster, which the manufacturer is likely to update with this facelift to give it a more modern feel.
Other features are expected to be the same, including automatic headlights and wipers, cruise control, automatic climate control, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and a rear parking camera with sensors. However, instead of the 2 airbags currently available, the facelifted Tiago (both ICE and EV) could come with 6 airbags as standard.
Facelifted EV could get larger batteries, but ICE’s facelift could get the same engine
The facelifted combustion-powered Tiago is expected to continue with the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 86hp and 113Nm, and a 5-speed manual or 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). The CNG option for the same engine, which produces 75.5hp and 96.5Nm, is also expected to be offered on the facelifted model.
Currently, the Tata Tiago EV is offered with two battery pack choices: a 19.2kWh option paired with a 61hp,110Nm motor, and a larger 24kWh option with a 75hp, 114Nm motor. The claimed range for the 19.2kWh and 24kWh batteries is 223km and 293km, respectively. Chances are that it will be offered with slightly larger batteries for a higher claimed range, as the manufacturer did with the Punch EV.
With the facelift, the prices are expected to be slightly revised. Currently, the Tiago ICE’s prices range from Rs 4.60 lakh to Rs 7.68 lakh, while the current Tiago EV’s prices range from Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 11.14 lakh. Like the Punch EV, Tata may offer the Tiago’s electric version with a battery-as-a-service (BaaS) scheme for a lower upfront price tag. It will continue to lock horns with the Citroen eC3 and MG Comet EV.
Prices are ex-showroom, India.
