CHENNAI: The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), Tamil Nadu, declared the TN SSLC Result 2026 today with the state recording an overall pass percentage of 94.31 per cent in the Class 10 public examinations. The SSLC examinations conducted between March 11 and April 6 across the state.Among the notable performers this year, M Suganthi from Ashok Nagar Girls Higher Secondary School secured 496 marks out of 500 and emerged among the city toppers in Chennai. She also secured the second position among government school students in the city following the declaration of the Class 10 board examination results.M Suganthi emerges among top-performing studentsM Suganthi, daughter of a water can delivery worker, achieved 496 out of 500 marks in the SSLC examinations conducted by the Directorate of Government Examinations. Her performance placed her among the top scorers in Chennai this year.She emerged as the topper of Ashok Nagar Girls Higher Secondary School after the release of results online through tnresults.nic.in and other official portals. The Tamil Nadu board has not issued an official statewide topper list for the SSLC examinations this year.

Aims to pursue civil servicesSpeaking to TOI after the declaration of results, Suganthi said she plans to take up Business Mathematics in higher secondary education before preparing for the civil services.“I want to take Business Mathematics and later pursue civil services,” she told TOI.In a lighter moment, she also spoke about her wish to meet Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay following her performance in the examinations.“I secretly wished that I get called to the Chief Minister’s office for felicitation. My mom and I are his biggest fans. I would like to meet him and share this wonderful news,” she told TOI.Tamil Nadu records improved overall performanceTamil Nadu recorded an overall pass percentage of 94.31 per cent in the SSLC examinations this year, improving slightly from last year’s 93.80 per cent. A total of 8,70,643 students appeared for the examinations across the state.Girls outperformed boys in the board examinations by recording a pass percentage of 96.47 per cent, while boys secured 92.15 per cent. The performance gap between girls and boys stood at 4.32 percentage points this year.Thousands of schools secure cent per cent resultsThe Directorate of Government Examinations reported that 5,171 schools secured a 100 per cent pass percentage in the SSLC examinations this year. Out of these, 1,931 were government schools.Overall, 12,467 schools participated in the Class 10 public examinations conducted across Tamil Nadu. The board data also showed that 8,233 schools recorded pass percentages above 95 per cent.Students can continue downloading provisional scorecards through tnresults.nic.in, dge.tn.gov.in, DigiLocker and other official platforms. The online marksheets contain subject-wise marks, total score and qualifying status.
