Turkiye’s retail trade confidence rises 1.1% in September

Turkiye’s seasonally adjusted retail trade confidence index increased 1.1 per cent in September 2026 from the previous month, while construction confidence edged down 0.2 per cent and services confidence remained unchanged, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (Turkstat).

Retail trade confidence increased to 111.3 in September from 110.1 in August. Business activity-sales over the past three months rose 0.4 per cent to 114.5, while the current volume of stock index declined 1.3 per cent to 91.4. The business activity-sales expectation index for the next three months increased 3.5 per cent to 128.0.

Construction confidence edged down to 83.0 from 83.1 in August, while services confidence index stood at 111.9 in September, unchanged from August.

The data offers a snapshot of business sentiment across key sectors.

Turkstat noted that an increase in the stock index indicates a decrease in stock volume, while a decline in the index indicates an increase in stock volume.

For apparel, textile and retail sourcing teams, the stronger retail trade confidence and sales expectations provide an indicator of business sentiment in Türkiye’s consumer-facing sector.
