Roaches to showcase textile testing innovations at Techtextil 2026

Exhibiting with German partners on the Elmatex Pavillion, both Rob Shelton and Danny Netherwood of the Roaches team will be at Techtextil Frankfurt, showcasing the latest innovations in textile testing and analysis.

The key topic being showcased by Roaches is the value of fabric handle analysis in sustainable fabric production and supply chain, featuring the Sentire – Fabric Handle Tester. Having been initially developed alongside PhD research fellows at the University of Leeds in the UK, Rob and Danny are eager to open more conversation surrounding the benefits of using Sentire for small & large-scale textile production, as well as for research in academia.

Roaches will showcase its Sentire Fabric Handle Tester at Techtextil Frankfurt with Elmatex, highlighting how data-driven fabric handle analysis supports consistency, performance and sustainability.
Developed with the University of Leeds, Sentire enables measurable, comparable hand-feel data, ensuring traceability across batches for both industry and academic research.

Fabrics as we know must adhere to certain specifications, and for many textiles, fabric handle or ‘hand-feel’ characteristics correlate directly to the technical characteristics of the fabric, such as a no-iron shirt being resistant to creases. Being able to translate the fabric handle into communicable data that can be compared between batches and garments, is key in ensuring the consistency of how these fabrics handle and perform.

Sentire performs the testing and analyses the data that enables this traceability and comparison to ensure fabrics are consistent from product to product. The Roaches team are thrilled to be showcasing their Sentire at this years Techtextil & Texprocess in Frankfurt, to new audiences in technical textiles. Having been launched less than 1 year ago, they are excited to build upon the already successful entry that the Sentire has had into the textile industry, with a strong focus on academic research and development so far.

Rob Shelton (International Business Development Manager) and Danny Netherwood (UK Business Development Manager) will be with Sören Klein and Oliver Klein of Elmatex, near the entrance to Hall 12 on the Elmatex Pavillion, and will be ready to discuss not only the Sentire, but their full suite of laboratory testing equipment, as well as the of dyeing, finishing and autoclave machines also within the Roaches product range.
