Under the collaboration, ICRIER will contribute its research and technical capabilities to strengthen textile-related data systems and provide analytical inputs for policymaking in India’s textile and apparel (T&A) industry, a key sector for the country’s manufacturing, exports and employment generation.
India’s Ministry of Textiles and Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) have signed an MoU to support data-driven policymaking for the textile and apparel sector.
The partnership will strengthen textile data systems and provide analytical research inputs to help formulate robust policies for a sector that plays a major role in India’s manufacturing, exports and employment
The MoU was signed by Akhilesh Kumar, Deputy Director General at the Ministry of Textiles, and Shekhar Aiyar, Director and Chief Executive of ICRIER.
