The State Bank of India (SBI) is expected to released the results for the Probationary Officer (PO) Mains exam soon. As per media reports, it is expected to be out by October. Looking at past year trends, it was declared on November 6 last year.

Candidates who appeared for the exam can check and download their results from the official website, sbi.co.in, using their roll number, once out. The SBI PO Mains 2026 examination was conducted on September 12.

Candidates who successfully pass the mains exam will next need to attend the Psychometric Test and Group Exercise worth 20 marks, followed by a Personal Interview worth 30 marks. Those who successfully clear these stages will be selected for the posts.

The final result is expected to be out by November/December. Candidates finally selected will receive a salary ranging from Rs 36,000 to Rs 63,840.

SBI PO Mains Result 2026: How To Check?

Step 1 – Visit the official website of the State Bank of India – sbi.co.in.

Step 2 – On the homepage, click on the link that says ‘SBI PO Mains Result 2026’.

Step 3 – Enter your registration number/roll number and date of birth/password.

Step 4 – Your SBI PO Mains Result 2026 will be displayed on the screen.

Step 5 – Download the result and save a copy for future reference.

The Mains exam was conducted online and included an Objective Test worth 200 marks and a Descriptive Test worth 50 marks. Although there are no minimum marks for individual subjects, candidates must meet the overall qualifying criteria set by SBI. A merit list will be prepared based on state and category, and candidates will be ranked according to their aggregate scores within their respective states and categories.

What happens after SBI PO Mains Result?

Candidates who qualify in the Mains examination will move to Phase III, which includes a psychometric test, group exercise and personal interview. Candidates must qualify separately in both Phase II and Phase III.

One must note that prelims marks will not be considered for the final merit list. The Mains score, including the objective and descriptive tests, will be normalised to 75 marks, while Group Exercise and Interview will together carry 25 marks.

The final round of the SBI PO selection process will include a psychometric test, group exercises, and a personal interview. Candidates’ thinking, personality, communication skills, and their ability to be considered suitable for the banking sector will also be assessed.
